uprooted tree showing uprooted life

Counseling and Resources
for Internationals, Immigrants,
and Third Culture Kids

"Where do I belong?"

"Who am I now that...?"

"Will I ever be 'home' again?"

"When will I get my life back?"

"Will anyone ever truly understand me?"

"Should I just pretend to fit in, or stop trying?"

"What to do with all this trauma?"

"Will I always be lonely?"

It's not too late to thrive.

"Laura is an empathetic, authentic & knowledgeable therapist. Her cultural background allows her to truly identify and relate to
other cultures and values."

- Client Z. from the Middle East

My name is Laura.

I'm a child at heart who loves all that is beautiful and is grieved by pain and injustice. Having spent much of my life overseas, I cherish the kaleidoscope of world cultures. I also know the turmoil of being uprooted again & again.

As a counselor, I journey with people worldwide who have experienced their own uprooting. A few examples are Third Culture Kids (TCK's), Cross Cultural Kids (CCK's), expatriates, immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers. I aim to be a catalyst in healing trauma, grieving loss, finding identity, grappling with questions, mending relationships, integrating cultures, overcoming loneliness and shame, and achieving stability.

How I Work

Because people who have been uprooted live all over the world, I offer sessions online via secure videoconferencing

(like Zoom).

Meeting is as easy as clicking a link and as convenient as talking with a trusted friend from the comfort of your own home.

I also have some availability at my office in Temple, Texas, USA.

Busy schedule?

Time zone difference?

Not a problem. Schedule permitting, I can offer morning or evening sessions.

A typical session is 50 minutes. How frequently we meet and how long we continue to meet will be up  to you.

When?

How?

In the context of a safe therapeutic relationship, change is possible.

Reach out today and let's talk. I currently offer a free 15-minute online consultation session to connect and hear your questions. If I'm not the right counselor for you, I may be able to recommend someone else.
